The Future of Rural Land Use

17.02.2009

Strategic land use is being driven up the political agenda by public concerns over climate change, flood risk, food security and sustainable energy supplies and it is a major focus for the Relu programme.  Relu’s researchers represent the largest pool of academic expertise on land and water in the UK.  Their work is developing an informed perspective on contemporary challenges and posing major issues for land use policy, including how to manage the countryside to provide adaptable and multifunctional landscapes.  At this Relu conference they will present key challenges, explore cross-cutting concepts and give hands-on demonstrations of cutting-edge methodologies they are using to investigate the future of our countryside.

Closing date for registration: 24th April 2009
